Subject: Fighter-tactics... From: "Martin Elmberg" <cid90meg@lustudat.student.lu.se> Hehe, just had to give my thoughts on combat-tactics. I guess I have something to add, with 120+ (don't know the exact figure right now) and 9 REAL kills... Favourite offensive move: I dive, or turn onto an enemy, and when on his tail, I tunnelroll, to try to get as much "cutting-area" (or maybe volume???) as possible. This is a VERY good move, also VERY nice-looking, when done right, and when succesful. Favourite evasive move: The one you mention is a golden oldie. I've used it since -90 and onwards. Not so much nowadays though. Anyway, another VERY good move is turning while gaining/loosing height. Almost impossible for another pilot to follow. Vertical manouvres are seldom used by myself. Takes too much effort looking at your own model, when what you really need is looking at the enemy fighters. But, Split-S used to be a facourite, but, you can easily loose kites with it, and I have, so... Martin E |
