Books by Lori Micken

Lori Micken, a retired biology teacher, lives on a small ranch near Livingston, Montana.

Born and raised in Cut Bank, Montana, Lori attended Northern Montana College in Havre.  She earned a B.S. at Eastern Washington State College in Cheney and later an M.S. in Zoology from Montana State University in Bozeman.

Ms. Micken has written several nature articles for W.O.W, a science magazine for kids, and has had poetry published in various magazines. In her first book, Homespun Talk, she edited and published her mother's newspaper columns.  She has also written three books of poetry, including Hayhooks, Black Lace and Levis,  A Wee Bit O' Shetland Sheep Poetry, and Bungies, Bulls, and Bras.  Rachel, a fact-based historical novel, explores the life of a woman living on the Pennsylvania frontier from 1804 to 1815.  The novel is a result of research in Pennsylvania and five year's writing effort.
