The Drug Court program is designed to accept non-violent offenders with one
or more substance abuse problems, including alcohol. Participants will be
admitted post-guilty plea from Municipal, Circuit, Juvenile and District
courts and must be pre-approved under the program's guidelines. Participants are required to waive numerous constitutional rights to allow
the Drug Court Judge to impose immediate consequences for violations of the
Drug Court's treatment program rules. The Drug Court itself will be based in
Cody, but participants may reside anywhere in Park County and limited transportation to and from treatment and court sessions will be available in
certain circumstances.
Drug Court combines treatment with immediate consequences for violations and
instills life skills that many defendants lack. Participants are required
to attend numerous counseling sessions and to become productive members of
the community by maintaining full-time employment or enrolling in school
full time, by being current on all financial obligations, and by remaining
clean and sober. The program lasts a minimum of one year and is a demanding
substance abuse treatment regiment which takes a whole-life approach to treatment. To find
out more about the Park County Drug Court, and whether you or someone you know
