The new T@B teardrops are a bit longer (15 feet 6 inches), wider (6 feet 7 inches) and taller
(7 feet 9 inches) than their predecessors. The interior height of 5 feet 9 inches actually allows many people to
stand up inside. This definitely was not the case with the original designs, where the interior space was pretty
much used only for sleeping. In one T@B
floor plan, the generous interior dimensions can even accommodate a
queen-size bed. Surprisingly, all this interior space does not preclude easily storing the T@B in most standard
garages.
With three of the floor plans, there is an inside kitchen, complete with a sink, a two-burner stove, an ice box and
ample storage space. A 1.8-cubic-foot Norcold three-way or 12-volt refrigerator is optional. Premium vinyl flooring
comes standard on these teardrop trailers. Plus, interior color schemes of owners club blue, outburst, block party
or starburst green are available. You can also order a Cool Cat 12,000-Btu air conditioner with a heat pump or a
12,000-Btu LP heater with a thermostat and fan. The A/C is located inside, so the trailer’s streamline styling is
not marred by the typical rooftop unit. These trailers also provide room enough for storing a Port-a-Potty indoors.
The T@B sports a high-gloss, automotive finish which is easier to clean than traditional fiberglass and aluminum
finishes. A UV resistor reduces yellowing and fading. The T@B trailers come in either a white or silver exterior
finish with a choice of jolt grey, orange krush, mellow yellow or cherry red exterior trim.
With gross vehicle weight ratings of under a ton and hitch weights of only 110-154 pounds, these microlite travel
trailers can be towed by virtually any vehicle having a 2,000-pound towing capacity. The trailers come equipped with
a built-in surge brake, and there is no need for electronic brake controls or brake wiring. These units are light
enough to manually maneuver into a tight camping spot, using grab handles on each corner to make it easier.
The double-pane, tinted poly windows are top hinged for venting and feature roll-away screens and privacy shades.
An optional awning, shaped to the contour of the trailer, is stored in a custom bag that fits in a compartment
behind the sofa.
The fourth layout features a clamshell rear door that opens up to expose a complete kitchen, just like the original
designs.
Unlike most of the classic teardrops, constructed largely of hard-to-maintain wood, the T@B features an AluFiber
construction which combines aluminum with fiberglass laminated over foam-block insulation. This design
enables a longer trailer life.
The T@B features an Al-KO Kober ultra-light, galvanized frame. It rides on a rubber torsion, independent-suspension
axle. The frame includes a surge brake coupler, parking brake, easy-up tongue jack, and four corner stabilizer
jacks.
